From two people to forty-six.
2013 · 2 people
Two people and a borrowed camera.
Hana Okafor and Marcus Lindqvist start Upwell in a shared studio on Exmouth Market, making launch films for young fashion labels.
2017 · 11 people
We started buying the media.
Clients kept asking who would run the ads. Our first two buyers joined, and the people making the work could finally see what it returned.
2021 · 29 people
One floor at Turnmill Yard.
Studio, edit suites and media desks move onto the third floor of 28 Turnmill Yard, so a recut ad can be live the same afternoon.

How we work.
- 01
One number, agreed up front.
By week four we agree the figure we will be judged on, usually contribution margin or cost per new customer, and we report against it every week, including the weeks it goes the wrong way.
- 02
Makers sit with buyers.
Editors see the hook rates the morning after a launch. Buyers sit in on shoots. Nobody throws a brief over a wall, because there is no wall.
- 03
Your accounts, your assets.
Ad accounts stay in your business manager and every file we make is yours, rushes included. If you leave, nothing leaves with us.
The people you will meet.
Every client works with at least three of them, and all eight sit on the same floor as your account team.

01
Hana Okafor
Founder and managing director
Signs off every ninety-day plan herself, and still reads each client’s margins before she reads their ads.

02
Marcus Lindqvist
Co-founder and executive creative director
Shot Upwell’s first launch film on a borrowed camera in 2013. Now judges every edit by its first three seconds.

03
Priya Raman
Head of paid social
Ran Meta buying at two fashion marketplaces before joining. Her team spends £60m a year across Meta, TikTok and Pinterest.

04
Kwame Mensah
Head of search
Rewrites the product feed before he touches a bid. Took Fennick Audio’s Shopping launch to £1.9m in one quarter.

05
Sofia Marchetti
Head of strategy and measurement
An econometrician by training. Designs the holdout tests that show a finance team what each pound of spend is worth.

06
Jun Watanabe
Head of production
Runs the studio floor and both edit suites. A winning hook in the morning is twelve recuts by the afternoon.

07
Ellie Brennan
Client partner
Spent eight years client-side at a London homeware brand, so she writes the weekly report she always wanted to receive.

08
Rafael Costa
Head of design
Designs the landing pages and statics. Rebuilt the booking flow that took Casa Odela to 41% direct.
Third floor, Turnmill Yard.
One open floor, four minutes from Farringdon station. Pick a room.
The studio
Two infinity coves and a daylight bay. Most client shoots happen here, a few metres from the people who will buy the media.

Open roles.
Three roles open now. Send a short note and two pieces of work you are proud of; we reply to every application within ten working days.
You will run Meta and TikTok for three clients spending £150k to £600k a month, plan tests with the studio and present results to their growth leads. You have managed seven-figure annual budgets and can explain a cost per acquisition to a finance director.
Apply by emailYou will animate statics, captions and product moments for short-form ads, often turning a winning edit into a dozen variants in a day. After Effects is a given; a reel of work made for the feed matters more than a showreel.
Apply by emailYou will build client dashboards, run geo holdout tests and help Sofia’s team turn media mix models into budget decisions. Strong SQL, comfortable in Python or R, and able to write a one-page summary a CMO will actually read.
